Friday Evening
On Shabbat evening we offer a wide array of services for young and old alike:
- On many Friday nights we offer two Kabbalat Shabbat services, one at 5:45 PM and one at 7:30 PM. The earlier service includes a full Kabbalat Shabbat recitation and a teaching from one of our rabbis. The later service offers a more cantorial rendition of Kabbalat Shabbat, a sermon from one of our rabbis, and an Oneg Shabbat after the service.
- Once a month we offer a family service, usually accompanied by a family Shabbat dinner after the service.
- Once a month we offer PJ Shabbat, a program with Rabbi Garber for young persons up to age four. Children can attend in their PJs. The service concludes with a kid-friendly dinner of nuggets n' fries and veggies for the families.
- On a periodic basis throughout the year we offer Shabbat Live!, a special service lead by our cantor and rabbis that features dancing and live music.
- Other special Shabbat evening services include: a Shiviti minyan, which is a Carlebach Kabbalat Shabbat Service; a USY service; Organ and Choir services; and Shabbat Under the Stars, a BBQ dinner followed by an outdoor service.
