bebe (beth el babies exploring)
bebe is our informal group for moms and babies. Moms can meet and network with other moms, while babies can make new friends and play with age appropriate toys. We meet every Friday morning from 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. Join us for coffee and friendship! Membership at Beth El is not a requirement to participate.

PJ Shabbat
PJ Shabbat is a fun, engaging “service” for our youngest generation. All children 5 and under (and their siblings, parents, and grandparents) are welcome to experience the joy of Shabbat with dancing, singing, stories, and a chicken nugget dinner. Join Rabbi Ilana Garber in this free monthly program – part of our early childhood education.

RSVPs are not required, but are encouraged to enable us to better plan for dinner. Sponsorship opportunities are available – for just $50 you can celebrate a child’s birthday by sponsoring that month’s PJ Shabbat. To RSVP or sponsor a dinner, please contact Rabbi Howard Rosenbaum hrosenbaum@bethelwh.org or (860) 233-9891.

Tumbling with Torah
The Torah belongs to those who grasp it, and who wrestle with it, and who tumble with it! Tumbling with Torah is our incredibly popular Shabbat morning experience for children up to age 4. Led by Barbara Checknoff, one of Hartford’s greatest early childhood educators, Tumbling begins with a service and Torah story at 11am and continues with a grape juice and challah snack, followed by a chance to tumble on our fun equipment. This is free to the entire community. Parents must stay with children during this hour and all are welcome to the bima in the sanctuary at noon for kiddush and a treat. Contact Rabbi Howard Rosenbaum at (860) 233-9891 for more information.

Young People’s Havurah
Young People’s Havurah is a group for those 35 and under who are single, married, or in a relationship, but without full-time children. We meet monthly in someone's home or at the synagogue. We join together for dinners, wine tasting parties, dessert socials, Shabbat activities, bowling, and movies. To join, Click Here.
