Kaplan Medical Center’s Ophthalmology Ward in Rehovot, Israel.

Kaplan Medical Center provides medical care to the southern part of Israel, serving a population of more than one million citizens. It is located in the center of the rocket barrage from the Gaza strip. Closely collaborating with The Hebrew University in Jerusalem and The Weitzman Institute of Science in Rohovot, Kaplan Medical Center's Ophthalmology ward fosters a close interaction between clinicians and scientists. That means it brings the latest science and treatment options to the more than 22,000 patients who come to its outpatient clinic every year. The physicians work to translate innovative ideas from the clinic into novel therapeutic treatments for ocular diseases. At its core, the ward values excellent patient care, medical education, sharing knowledge, fostering financial sustainability, research and innovation.

A pioneer in the ethnic-rock genre of Israeli music, singer-songwriter Micha Biton uses songs and personal anecdotes to tell the story of his childhood. As a small child he performed in major festivals and competitions representing his city and was considered a musical child prodigy. Micha has released five studio solo albums of original music, one album of prayers and psalms (ancient and original texts) and a live compilation album/DVD from all of his original works recorded in Tel Aviv. Micha performs across Israel and abroad, bringing his story and his songs of inspiration and joy to audiences throughout the world. We are excited to "host" him virtually!

Neshama Carlebach is an award-winning singer, songwriter and educator who has performed and taught in cities around the world. A six-time entrant in the Grammy Awards and winner and four-time Independent Music Awards Nominee for her most current release, Believe, Neshama has sold over one million records, making her one of today’s best-selling Jewish artists in the world. Neshama has been a cornerstone of major Jewish music festivals across the U.S. and globally, performing in front of thousands at countless concerts and gatherings for audiences of all ages and backgrounds. As a teenager she performed alongside her father, the late Rabbi Shlomo Carlebach. As the first then-Orthodox woman of her generation to perform for a mixed-gender audience, Neshama has sparked public conversations with brave forays into the place of women in Judaism and today’s world. Neshama lives in New York with her husband Rabbi Menachem Creditor, and their five children.
