Be Part of our thriving community
When you join Beth El Temple, you become part of a multi-generational community committed to connecting richly with Judaism and with each other. Our size is indeed our strength, and as a vibrant and diverse community you have a wide range of opportunities to engage in Jewish life. For all ages and interests, backgrounds and experiences, meaningful connections are waiting for you here at Beth El Temple.
We are fortunate to have a strong professional staff dedicated to helping each person – no matter the age or stage in life – have experiences that are personally fulfilling. Our professionals work together with many dedicated volunteers to continually bring new and exciting ideas to life. Indeed, our volunteers are our lifeblood. Whatever your area of interest, you’ll find many ways to get involved.
Because we are a diverse congregation, we offer diverse levels of membership. You will find special rates for young singles, young couples, young families, households with a single parent, interfaith families, and seniors, along with a special new-member discount. We work closely with each and every family to ensure that your financial needs are well balanced with the needs of our synagogue. We welcome everyone to come and pray, participate, connect and belong to our Beth El community.
Please contact Rabbi Howard Sowalsky at hsowalsky@bethelwh.org or (860) 233-9696 for more membership information or to arrange a tour.

Annual Turkey Drive for JFS
Sunday, Nov 23rd 9:00a to 12:00p
The need for turkey donations is great this year, as there are so many in our community who risk going without a holiday meal. Thanks to your generosity last year, we were able to feed all of the JFS families! This year we know we need 300+ frozen turkeys to feed the Greater Hartford families who need our help. Please bring your frozen turkeys (preferably kosher), pop your trunks and one of our volunteers will be there to assist you. If you cannot bring a turkey, a cash or check donation (made payable to Jewish Family Services with "food pantry" in the memo line) is also very much appreciated. This event will take place rain or shine! -

Reading The Women of the Bible with Rabbi Rachel Zerin
Wednesday, Dec 3rd 6:00p to 7:15p
Join Rabbi Rachel Zerin and Women's Network for an engaging class designed to explore the often-overlooked stories of women in the Hebrew Bible. Note: Evening minyan begins at 5:30 pm (and please join us if you can!). Class will begin at approximately 6:00pm.
