Craft Gallery
New managers Lonni and Rivka welcome you to the Craft Gallery!
In our shop you'll find...
- items for Rosh Hashanah -- apple and honey dishes, challah boards and challah covers, kiddush cups, candles and candlesticks
- tallitot and kippot for your child's bar or bat mitzvah
- menorahs and seder plates for holidays later in the Jewish year
- mezuzot, jewelry, books and toys for any occasion
Lonni and Rivka love helping shoppers find just the right item, whether it's for your home or a gift for family or friends. Rivka specializes in Judaica, having previously owned the Judaica Shop in West Hartford's Bishop's Corner.
The Craft Gallery will be open 9-11:30am on Sundays when SULAM (Beth El's religious education program) is in session. All proceeds benefit Beth El Temple.
For an appointment at other times, please contact the Beth El office at (860) 233-9696 and we can connect you with Lonni and Rivka.
If you think you would like to volunteer in the Craft Gallery, please contact the Beth El office!
Craft Gallery
We specialize in hand-crafted Judaica from American and Israeli artists. You’ll find a lovely selection of mezuzot, tallitot and tallit clips, kippot, yads, Shabbat candlesticks, challah boards, challah covers and washing cups, plus chanukiot and collectible dreidels, seder plates and all the accompanying Pesach goodies, tzedakah boxes, bridal gifts -- the list goes on.
Proceeds from this Women’s Network-sponsored shop support the Beth El community, including B’nai Mitzvah kiddush cups, new member welcome baskets, and havdallah candles used by our religious education students.
Our Craft Gallery is open on Sunday mornings when SULAM is in session. To arrange a personal visit, contact the Beth El office at (860) 233-9696 and let us know you would like to talk to one of managers!

Thank you, Jill & Shelley!
Jill Jones and Shelley Barker did an awesome job managing Beth El's beautiful Craft Gallery for more than a dozen years, with Jill's tenure going back even further! They are now enjoying a well-deserved retirement from this labor of love.
The Craft Gallery is an exceptional asset for Beth El and all proceeds from sales, amounting to thousands of dollars each year, are used by Women’s Network to benefit our entire congregation by funding engaging adult programming, off-site learning experiences for our teens and specific synagogue needs that come up from time to time.
Please join us in expressing our immense gratitude to Jill and Shelley for their passionate dedication and untold hours of service over the past many years! Also, please welcome Lonni and Rivka as they begin to guide this valuable gem forward into the future!

The 8th annual Tour de Shuls CT will be held on Sunday, October 5th, 2025. We took a break and now we are back in action in 2025. This year’s tour will have 2 bike routes, the 25 mile route will be starting and finishing at The Emanuel Synagogue in West Hartford CT and a 10 mile bike route (5K Run/Walk) will start and finish at Temple Sinai in Newington, CT. More than simply a bike ride, Tour de Shuls is a community event to support Camp Ramah’s Tikvah and Camp Eisner’s Chazak programs. These programs serve Jewish children with physical and cognitive disabilities. Participating in the Tour enables these campers to experience the joys and camaraderie of Jewish summer camp – swimming, soccer, arts & crafts, singing around the campfire, and celebrating Shabbat, by providing scholarships to defray the costs of attending camp. Ride with us individually, as a family or with a group of friends. All levels of riders are welcome. Registration is $54 for adults. For teens and children ages 18 and under, the registration fee is $36. The fee is capped at $126 per family. The registration fee will be waived for any individual who raises and collects at least $180 in contributions. -
