Book in the Sukkah with Jennifer Anne Moses

5:45 PM - 7:30 PMBeth El Temple, 2626 Albany Avenue, West Hartford, CT 06117Beth El Temple Women's Network proudly presents our 2023 Book in the Sukkah event!
Women's Network is hosting author Jennifer Anne Moses in the sukkah for a conversation about her first book of short stories, The Man Who Loved His Wife. Moses is the author of several books, including Food and Whine, Bagels and Grits, Tales from My Closet and The Art of Dumpster Diving, and has also published dozens of essays, articles, Op Ed pieces, and short stories.
According to The Jerusalem Post, the 13 stories in this book give us "a wry, unsentimental commentary on modern Jewish American life. Her great skill is in conjuring up from her most fertile imagination wholly believable human beings, complete with their strengths and weaknesses, and carving out a slice of their existence for us."
Moses tells the stories of regular people faced with the problems of daily life but weighted with the 4000-year-old history of Judaism. These wide-ranging stories are by turn funny, sly, poignant, and intelligent, but they share one common trait: they are all thoroughly and profoundly Jewish.
We hope that you can join us for this great conversation and great company, and of course, delicious snacks and drinks!
