Domestic Abuse in the Jewish Community: Breaking the Silence and Building Support

Sunday, March 16, 2025 16 Adar 5785

3:00 PM - 5:00 PMThe Emanuel Synagogue, 160 Mohegan Drive, West Hartford, CT 06117

Women's Network and the Sisterhoods of The Emanuel Synagogue and Beth Sholom B'nai Israel are co-sponsoring a program to increase education about domestic violence and promote awareness of its presence in our community.

Do you know how to recognize the signs of domestic abuse?
Are you concerned that someone you care about is experiencing domestic abuse?
Are you aware of the resources that exist in our community for survivors of domestic abuse?
Do you know the unique barriers that Jewish survivors of domestic abuse face?

Over 1 in 3 women and 1 in 4 men in the U.S. have experienced intimate partner violence. Domestic abuse is as prevalent in the Jewish community as anywhere else, yet survivors often report feeling disbelieved, shunned, and disconnected.

Join us for a presentation, discussion and Q&A with Alana Blum, Associate VP of Community Response
for Jewish Women International and Jessica Garcia, Director of Community Programs at Interval House and Alana Blum, Associate VP of Community Response
for Jewish Women International.
