The Masa Program: Exploring Jewish Boston
Sunday, April 27, 2025 • 29 Nisan 5785
6:30 AM - 10:00 PMRegistration is now closed. Our trip is fully booked!
All 8th – 12th graders are invited to join Dr. Eliyahu Krigel and Marisa Beede for a special day trip to Boston to learn about the Jewish experience!
The Masa Program at Beth El is a travel impact program for 8th – 12th graders. In its second year, the program consists of a combination of meetings, culminating in a trip.
Masa means journey. This program is focused on exploring the Jewish journey of our post B’nei Mitzvah students through travel impact learning experiences.
This year's trip will focus on the Jewish connection with the American Revolutionary War. How were Jews involved in settling the early American colonies? On the trip, we will go on a walking tour of Jewish Boston and soak in the scenes. We'll explore Boston’s Jewish heritage by visiting the city’s historic synagogues, Jewish monuments, and key neighborhoods. We'll learn about the 19th-century Jewish roots of the Beacon Hill area and tour key Jewish gathering sites like the Vilna Shul, and pay our respects to those who lost their lives at Boston's moving Holocaust Memorial. We will visit a local Hillel and dine on Kosher cuisine! We will also have the opportunity to visit Mayyim Hayyim (community mikveh) and Hebrew College. Thanks to Women’s Network for providing generous funding support for this trip!
Please contact Dr. Eliyahu Krigel at ekrigel@bethelwh.org with questions and for more information.
